Auxiliary
Hospice of the Chesapeake's Auxiliary formed in May 1984 with 12 women signing the founding by-laws. Today Auxiliary membership is more than 100 strong.
By the generally accepted definition, an auxiliary is a group offering help, aid, assistance or support. Our Auxiliary chooses to help Hospice of the Chesapeake primarily through fund raising and public relation efforts.
Through the group's philanthropic projects, the Auxiliary has furnished a room at the Mandrin Hospice House and brought cable television to the Tate Hospice House. They assist Hospice Cup fund raising efforts by selling advertisements for the program and working as volunteers during the event. Additionally, the Auxiliary supports The Life Center of the Hospice of the Chesapeake with an annual Tree of Lights fund raiser and providing bereavement camp scholarships to children, teens and adults dealing with grief. The Auxiliary also volunteers on Friday mornings at Treasures, Hospice of the Chesapeake's upscale consignment and donation resale shop in Severna Park.
The Auxiliary is accepting new members. Call Vesta Phiel at 410-544-2128 if you are interested in joining this wonderful organization.
