2008 Beacon of Hope Gala
Local Hospice of the Chesapeake supporters enjoyed A Night In Old Havana during the 12th Annual Beacon of Hope Gala that was held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. The Harborside Ballroom was transformed into an elegant club from Old Havana with sweeping palms and casino gaming. The evening included fine cuisine, an auction, gambling and dancing to the big band and Latin sounds of Horizon. There was a raffle with a cash prize of $20,000. A Night In Old Havana honored the DeStefano Family and paid tribute to their continued commitment to Hospice of the Chesapeake. The Honorary Chair and Presenting Sponsor, for the 2008 Beacon of Hope Gala was Jay Baldwin of Reliable Contracting.

2007 Hospice Cup XXVI
The Hospice Cup XXVI sailing regatta brought in $115,000 with more than 80 sailboats in the race and 450 attendees at the shore party. The event was facilitated by many Hospice of the Chesapeake volunteers and staff members whom also worked as crew members on boats in the hospice class of the regatta. Mandrin Homes, Northrop Grumman and Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Rardin were the major sponsors of the 26th Annual Hospice Cup Regatta, held on September 8, 2007.

2007 Golf Tournament
Hospice of the Chesapeake held its 5th Annual Golf Tournament on September 25, 2007 and raised $80,000 in gifts and in-kind donations. With more than 120 participants, the tournament was held at South River Golf in Edgewater, Maryland. It was chaired by Charlie Birney of The Brick Companies Foundation. The winning foursome represented Beltway Transportation Service of Forestville, Maryland and consisted of Steve Coy, Chris Curley, Pat Curley, and Mike Davis, all of Bowie.
