Since 1979 Hospice of the Chesapeake has been your community partner, providing compassionate care to thousands of people in Anne Arundel County. In 2000, Hospice of the Chesapeake realized a growing need for hospice care in Prince George's County and opened an office in Landover, Maryland.

Today, we care for families as far north as Brooklyn Park in Anne Arundel County, and as far south as Accokeek in Prince George's County. Our hospice houses in Linthicum (Northern Anne Arundel County) and Harwood (Southern Anne Arundel County) provide residential hospice care for all who need it in the communities we
                                                        serve.

In August 2005, Hospice of the Chesapeake was awarded the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organization's Seal of Excellence for successfully completing the Standards for Excellence certification program. Standards for Excellence are based on fundamental values such as honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, trust, responsibility, and accountability. Hospice of the Chesapeake's programs and services, management, fundraising and financial practices were examined in depth before the certification was awarded. Hospice of the Chesapeake is one of the first organizations to be certified under the Standards program that began in 1998.

Hospice of the Chesapeake is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) community-based agency that is licensed and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The organization is managed by a Board of Directors, a group of dedicated community leaders. The Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation solicits donations and grants, and sustains community support.
