The Giving Heart of Hospice

Gifts of Stock and Property

Donations of appreciated stocks and securities enable donors to realize tax benefits while receiving the satisfaction of helping our organization. If you have owned stock for at least one year, you are entitled to a tax deduction of the fair market value of the stock on the date of transfer and may also be entitled to capital gains relief. Please contact your financial advisor or broker for more information about this simple way to support Hospice of the Chesapeake.

Wills and Estate Gifts

Join our Circle of Care by including Hospice of the Chesapeake in your will or trust or by designating us as the beneficiary of your IRA or life insurance policy. A gift through your will or living trust, known as a bequest, enables you to support Hospice of the Chesapeake at a more significant level than ever imagined. Arranged today, a bequest is not paid until after your passing. You may give a specific sum, property, or a percentage of your estate.

Visit our planned giving website for more information about how these and other types of planned gifts may avoid probate and reduce inheritance taxes.

If you have already included Hospice of the Chesapeake in your will or estate plan, please contact us as we would like to personally thank you for your generosity and acknowledge your donation.

Donor-Advised Funds

You can also recommend a gift through a donor-advised fund at a community foundation, commercial fund, or other organization. We offer DAF Direct for donors with funds housed at Fidelity or Schwab.
