Dr. Eric Bush was honored to be a keynote speaker at the 2nd International Conference on Palliative Care held Sept. 23 to 24 in Prague, Czech Republic. Bush is Chief Medical Officer for Hospice of the Chesapeake and Chesapeake Palliative Medicine.

A sought-after expert voice in the fields of hospice and palliative care, Bush presented “Community based palliative care, opportunities and challenges.” He also served as the chair for the conference’s Palliative Care sessions that included discussions from colleagues from Iowa, Canada, Hong Kong, Romania and Italy.

Bush is a committed advocate for helping patients and families understand the options they have when facing advanced illness and end of life and takes great pride in the growth and depth of his organization’s palliative care programs. “The communities we serve have the right to be the most informed consumers they can be, especially when it pertains to healthcare,” Bush said. “Being able to share what we have achieved with professionals from around the world is a great honor. And the opportunity to apply here in Maryland what my global colleagues have achieved is exciting.”
