The Giving Heart of Hospice
We depend on the generous support of people in our community and business partners to make sure that all those in need of hospice and bereavement care in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties are able to receive it today and well into the future.
In addition to gifts that support our overall mission and gifts in support of specific programs such as the Chesapeake Life Center, Chesapeake Kids or the We Honor Veterans program, other ways to give include:
Memorial and Tribute Gifts – Make a gift in memory of someone who has passed who touched your life. Or show someone you care about them with a gift in their honor on their birthday, anniversary, graduation or just because.
Gifts of Gratitude – Acknowledge one or more of our care team members for the hospice or bereavement care they provided to someone important to you.
Monthly Giving – Join our Circle of Remembrance with a sustaining monthly general or memorial gift of $10 or more.
Wills and Estate Gifts / Donor-Advised Funds – Join our Circle of Care by including Hospice of the Chesapeake in your will or trust or by designating us as the beneficiary of your IRA or life insurance policy. Visit our planned giving website for more information about how these and other types of planned gifts may avoid probate and reduce inheritance taxes. Or you can recommend a gift through your fund’s host organization. We offer DAF Direct for donors with funds housed at Fidelity or Schwab.
Workplace Giving – State and federal government employees may give through the Maryland Charity Campaign (#6657) and the Combined Federal Campaign (#36862). Gifts may also be designated to us through the United Way of Central Maryland, as well as through many corporate United Way campaigns and employee giving programs.
In-Kind Donations – We welcome donations of artwork, collectibles and other items of value for our event auctions and raffles, subject to approval. We are not able to accept gifts of medical supplies or equipment.
Matching Gifts – If you work for a company that matches employee donations to charities, you can double or triple the amount of your gift. Contact your company’s Human Resources Department as the first step.
Gifts of Stock/Property – Make a gift of appreciated stock, securities or real property that financially benefits both you and Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Event Sponsorship – Each of our four annual fundraising events – the Gala, the Golf Tournament, Fashion for a Cause and Chesapeake Kids Night at Bowie BaySox – have a variety of attractive sponsorship opportunities.
