This lecture on Contemporary Integrative Treatment of the Anxiety Disorders will be presented by Dr. Sally Winston, PsyD, the Founder and Executive Director of Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland, LLP. Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to distinguish the different presentations of anxiety disorders so that treatment can be effectively tailored to the individual.
- Participants will be able to present relevant psychoeducational information to instill hope, insight and motivation and to reduce anxious bewilderment.
- Participants will be able to identify subtle ways in which symptoms are maintained and exacerbated, such as paradoxical effort, metacognitive mistakes, avoidance and safety behaviors.
- Participants will be introduced to a new conceptualization of Generalized Anxiety Disorder as a close relative of OCD.
