The Giving Heart of Hospice
Tribute gifts offer a meaningful way to remember a loved one, honor someone special, or thank a wonderful caregiver.
Honor and Memorial Gifts
Families of our patients often choose to give memorial gifts to honor their loved ones. A gift in memory of a loved one is a special way to support Hospice of the Chesapeake. Gifts in honor of someone living, particularly around important dates like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, are a wonderful way to let someone know you are thinking about them.
Obituary Designated Gifts
Many families wish to designate gifts directly to Hospice of the Chesapeake after the death of a loved one. You can request gifts in lieu of flowers in an obituary by including the following: “The family requests that memorial donations and donations in lieu of flowers be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122 (please note the name of the loved one on the memo line) or online at https://www.hospicechesapeake.org/giving/donate-now/.”
Gifts of Gratitude
Gifts of Gratitude allow families to recognize the outstanding care provided by our staff. Families can make a donation as a thank you to a special care team member who made an impact and provided memorable care. Every caregiver or staff member is notified when a donation is made in his or her honor.
Commemorative bricks are an enduring, visible way to honor and memorialize loved ones and to support Hospice of the Chesapeake. Bricks, placed on our campus, may be purchased at any time with a $1,000 donation. You can remember a loved one, honor a hospice care team member, or send an uplifting message of hope. Each year, bricks are dedicated with a ceremony of remembrance. Download the form here that will allow you to purchase your brick and honor your loved one.
When your gift is received, we will send you a letter of acknowledgment for your tax records. We will also send a special notification letter to the person(s) you are honoring or their family. If you have chosen to honor a staff member, we will notify them of your gift. The amount of your donation will remain confidential.
Named gifts are a wonderful way to honor a loved one. For gifts of $2,500 and above we have multiple naming opportunities available at our John and Cathy Belcher Campus in Pasadena, Maryland including:
