Hospice of the Chesapeake

Sandra Dillon is the Vice President of Administrative Services and Engagement at Hospice of the Chesapeake, the largest independent not-for-profit hospice organization in Maryland. She joined the organization in 2010 after serving as a member of the volunteer Board of Directors and was promoted to Vice President in May 2024.

In her current role, Dillon is responsible for overseeing administrative functions, advocacy, legislative affairs, and employee engagement. As part of the executive leadership team, she contributes to the strategic direction of the organization and supports its mission to serve approximately 600 hospice patients daily across Maryland.

From 2010 to 2024, Dillon served as Director of Communications, where she led strategic communications, branding, public relations, marketing, community outreach, advocacy, and employee communications efforts. She played a pivotal role in enhancing the organization’s visibility and strengthening relationships with stakeholders across the state.

Before joining Hospice of the Chesapeake, Dillon held several positions with Comcast Communications in Anne Arundel County, including Communications Manager from 2002 to 2010. In this role, she managed over $1 million in cash donations and $3 million in in-kind partnerships annually, benefiting nearly 175 nonprofit organizations. Dillon also served as the local producer for Comcast’s interview program featured on CNN Headline News and managed internal communications for nearly 500 employees in the MD/DE region.

A passionate community advocate, Dillon serves on the Board of Directors for LeadingAge Maryland and has been actively involved with various organizations over the past 15 years, including the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services Advisory Board and the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. In 2007, she was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley to the inaugural term of the School Board Nominating Commission of Anne Arundel County.

Dillon is a Certified Nonprofit Executive through the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations & Executives. She is also a graduate of the 2007 Leadership Anne Arundel Flagship program, a YWCA TWIN honoree, and a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County.
