The revival of a sacred space dedicated to peace, reflection and healing for our community is underway at the Burnett Center for Hope & Healing, 4559 Sixes Road, Prince Frederick, Maryland. The center is inviting the people of Calvert County and friends of Hospice of the Chesapeake to help lay small rocks that will mark the path of its restored labyrinth.
The organization is grateful for the exceptional work and shared commitment of Nottingham Landscaping. Their generosity, care and craftsmanship has prepared the ground and the design of the labyrinth. The next phase of the project will bring the community together to place light river rocks along the newly restored labyrinth path. This will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 17. In the event of rain or extreme heat, a weather date of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 24 has been set.
Whether you stay for just a few minutes or the whole morning, your presence matters. The rocks are small and manageable, making this a great opportunity for all ages and abilities to get involved. Each rock will be laid with love and meaning—a collective act of peace, remembrance and restoration.
All tools, gloves, water and light snacks will be provided. All volunteers need to provide are smiles and community spirit. Don’t miss this chance to be part of something meaningful and lasting. Together, the community and Hospice of the Chesapeake can restore not only a labyrinth, but a space that will bring peace to many for years to come.
Though it is not required, to help the organization plan, it is requested that people register to participate via this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0949ADA922A0FAC07-57450332-community. For details, call 443-679-7436.
